Sunraysia residents have an opportunity to help shape the region's response to the climate emergency by contributing to the Community Climate Emergency Plan this month.
A partnership between Mildura Rural City Council and the Climate Emergency Community Advisory Group, the plan will feature a range of community-owned and activated climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.
Councillor for Environment and Sustainability Jason Modica said two consultation workshops would be held this month, as well as a survey, to capture the community's ideas and priorities.
"We want to hear from as many individuals and groups as possible across a range of topics, including built environment, natural environment, farming, business/industry, waste, health, social inclusion and education," Cr Modica said.
Workshops will be held at the following locations:

Cr Modica, who is also an observer on the Climate Emergency Community Advisory Group, said this month's invitation for community input is the latest in a series of major steps by Council to address the climate emergency.
"In February 2020 we became the 30th local government in Victoria and the 94th in Australia to declare a climate emergency," he said.
"There are now 111 local governments Australia-wide that have declared a climate emergency."
Council has since developed its Towards Zero Emissions Strategy 2021-2050 and committed to zero net emissions by 2040 (excluding landfill) and 2050 (including landfill).
