Young people in Melbourne's outer eastern suburbs are benefitting from access to free, high-quality mental health services and support from headspace Knox.
Located near the Westfield Knox shopping centre in Wantirna South, headspace Knox has been helping local young people to deal with mental health and related issues for more than 10 years.
Across Australia, young people aged 16 to 24 have the highest prevalence of mental health disorders across all age groups. Almost two in five people in this age bracket now experience a mental health disorder lasting 12 months or more.
Improving mental health services and support is essential for all young Australians to reach their full potential.
headspace Knox provides care in four key areas - mental health, related physical and sexual health, alcohol and other drug support, and vocational services.
There are now 160 headspace services operating nationally, with 40 in Victoria.
The Albanese Government has committed to increase this to 173 services by 2025-26.
