The Youth of the Month for June is Claire Miller.
Claire Miller, 18, is from Manildra, attended Molong Central School, and is working as an apprentice with On-Trac Ag in Orange.
Claire was nominated for this award by the Country Education Foundation, Orange Branch. This organisation provides assistance to apprentices and regional youth to pursue career opportunities.
As part of Claire's apprenticeship, she has completed her 1st year TAFE course, Certificate III in Agricultural Mechanical Technology at Wagga Wagga Primary Industry Campus.
Claire was a leader in the school's Sports Leadership program.
Claire has volunteered for Manildra Carols over several years and for the Country Education Foundation fundraising event.
Claire leads work experience groups that visit her workplace, discussing problem diagnostics and repairs in easily understandable language for the students.
Claire is a proud young Wiradjuri woman who is leading the way in a highly male-dominated field of work and training.
Claire is passionately promoting women in trades across several platforms and was selected for VERTO's campaign for Women in Trades during International Women's Day.
Claire looks forward to implementing autonomous control technology across the local agricultural industry and strongly believes that all agriculture should be carried out in a way that reduces the impact on the environment.
