Youth Week WA Ambassadors Unveiled

Youth Minister Hannah Beazley has today welcomed the new ambassadors for Youth Week WA 2025, the largest annual celebration of young people aged 10-to-25 in Western Australia.

The ambassadors - Melissa Lee, Daisy Pilsworth, Om Sharma and Emily Sullivan - will bring their unique perspectives and experiences together to help shape Youth Week WA 2025 on behalf of young Western Australians.

Youth Week 2025 will be launched in the Pilbara in the City of Karratha with a special opening event to kick-start a week of celebrations across the State from April 10 to 17.

The Ambassadors will represent the voices of young people and participate in the planning, development and promotion of Youth Week.

They will also form part of the Youth Week WA Planning Committee, who support Propel Youth Arts WA (Propel) in planning the KickstART Festival and are responsible for choosing the Youth Week theme each year.

Twenty-three-year-old Melissa Lee is a Programs Officer at Canteen Australia, where she is responsible for coordinating and facilitating events for young people aged 12-to-25 impacted by a cancer diagnosis.

Melissa has also been involved in Youth Parliament WA and is passionate about advocacy and amplifying the voices of young people.

Nineteen-year-old Daisy Pilsworth is a Special Needs Education Assistant in the Pilbara region, where she supports young students in consultation with teachers, parents and professionals.

Daisy is passionate about representing the voices of young people living remotely and has been a regional Member of the Youth Parliament over the past two years. She has also been involved in several advisory groups and committees.

Nineteen-year-old Om Sharma is studying a Bachelor of Communications and works as a Communications Officer at the Department of Communities.

Om is passionate about community service and has helped coordinate and promote events for young people as part of Rotaract, TEDxKings Park and Act Belong Commit. He is also a current member of the Ministerial Youth Advisory Council.

Twenty-two-year-old Emily Sullivan is a proud youth advocate in the disability, mental health and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Emily has extensive advocacy experience across a variety of advisory roles and committees, including Headspace, Western Australian Association for Mental Health, Women with Disabilities Australia, Children and Young People with Disability Australia, The Y and the City of Subiaco.
