Two youths have been apprehended by police in relation to an assault on a Metro bus driver in Launceston on Friday evening.
The youths are alleged to have assaulted the driver by punching and kicking him, and hitting him with a broken bottle. The driver received a cut to his eye and was taken to the LGH.
The incident occurred on Mowbray Hill, after the driver stopped the bus and asked the youths to get off because they were drinking alcohol.
A 17 year old youth and a 16 year old youth were apprehended this afternoon. They will be charged in relation to the incident and appear in court tomorrow.
