The Huntsman: Winter's War bowed at No. 3 with an underwhelming $1 million (¥116 million) despite a wide 587-screen release, continuing its underperformance in major markets.
Samurai comedy The Magnificent Nine (Tono, Risoku de Gozaru!) dropped one place to No. 4, while If Cats Disappeared From the World (Sekai kara Neko ga Kieta nara) fell three places to No. 5.
Deadpool will get a rare Wednesday release slot this week, while Southpaw will open Friday.
