Fourth Arrest in Punchbowl Shooting: Task Force Falcon

Task Force Falcon detectives have charged a fourth person over a public place shooting in Punchbowl last week.

About 6pm yesterday (Friday 12 June 2026), a 21-year-old man was arrested when he attended Glebe Police Station.

He was taken to Newtown Police Station where he was charged with fire firearm at dwelling etc organised criminal activity, and participate criminal group contribute criminal activity.

The Glebe man has been refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 7 today (Saturday 13 June 2026); police will allege in court the man was involved in organising the shooting.

He is the fourth person to be charged over a public place shooting about 2.20pm last Saturday (6 June 2026), when police were called to a venue on the corner of Punchbowl Road and Canterbury Road, Punchbowl.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and found that several shots had been fired into a venue by an unknown SUV before it drove from the scene. No injuries were reported.

A short time later, police were called to Gillian Place, Punchbowl, following reports of a fire.

Officers attended and found that an abandoned car was well alight.

Fire and Rescue NSW arrived and extinguished the blaze; however, the car sustained significant damage.

Local police established crime scenes at both locations, before the matter was handed to State Crime Command's Task Force Falcon under Strike Force Cadek.

So far, two boys, aged 17, and a 23-year-old man, have been charged over their alleged involvement in the incident and remain before the courts.
