Huck Institutes Open House to Feature Instrumentation

Pennsylvania State University

The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences will host an open house event on Wednesday, Sept. 24, to advertise the high-tech instrumentation and expert consulting services available in its 11 core facilities.

Faculty, staff and student researchers with any level of familiarity with the cores are invited to attend the event, which will run from noon to 2 p.m. on the third-floor bridge between the Huck Life Sciences Building and the Benkovic Chemistry Building. Door prizes and free food will be available to attendees, and no registration is required.

"The Huck Core Facilities Open House is an excellent opportunity for life science researchers to find out about the instrumentation and services our 11 core facilities can provide," said Craig Praul, Huck's director of research instrumentation. "We want everyone to attend, but we believe this event will be especially beneficial to those who are new to Penn State, including graduate students, post-docs, staff and faculty. We offer access to an incredible range of technologies. There will be something of interest for everyone!"

Present at the event will be staff from the Biomolecular Interactions Core Facility, Cryo-Electron Microscopy Core Facility, CSL Behring Fermentation Core Facility, Flow Cytometry Core Facility, Genomics Core Facility, High-Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging Core Facility, Metabolomics Core Facility, Microscopy Core Facility, Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry Core Facility, Sartorius Cell Culture Core Facility, and the X-Ray Crystallography and Scattering Core Facility.
